Identify the box separately from the old AC
Record the sleeve label or part number as well as the old unit’s full model and suffix. Check the housing’s condition and rear grille. An old model can point to a likely sleeve, but it cannot prove which housing is installed today. If the label is missing, measurements can narrow identification; they do not authorize a particular replacement chassis.

Open the exact sleeve page below. A documented result means the manufacturer names the physical combination under the listed conditions. A needs-review result means there is no positive decision in our reviewed evidence. Neither a generic universal-fit description nor a retailer’s cabinet measurement overrides the exact installation instructions.

Keeping the outer box does not necessarily mean keeping its grille or every old accessory. Uni-Fit’s documented retained-sleeve procedure has its own required components and installation conditions. Other brands have different native housings. Read what is supplied with the chassis and what must be purchased separately, and verify the rear ventilation arrangement.

Do not inherit the new unit’s electrical eligibility from the old unit. Check the current supply voltage, receptacle and breaker or fuse, then the exact replacement’s requirements. A physically documented GE sleeve combination can still need a circuit-protection check. The finder keeps such a candidate visible without describing it as ready to buy.

The catalog is limited to the collected sleeve identities across Friedrich, LG and GE. An absent housing is not a finding that replacement is impossible. Get the exact manufacturer installation statement or qualified installation assessment before deciding to retain or replace it. Start from a known sleeve page rather than treating all catalog models as interchangeable.
