OUR CHECKING METHOD

A fit claim needs more than a tape measure.

We document the exact equipment and installation conditions behind each replacement option.

Identify the exact equipment

We record the model number, generation, and sleeve separately. A familiar brand name or a similar case size is not enough to establish a replacement.

Use model-specific documentation

Installation manuals and technical documents are the starting point. We record the document revision, relevant page or section, and date checked. Conflicting evidence remains a research issue until resolved.

Keep four outcomes distinct

  • Documented fit: the source supports the combination under the listed conditions.
  • Fit with required parts: the combination needs the specified parts and installation conditions. Included kits, separate purchases and unverified package contents are labelled separately.
  • Not compatible: a documented requirement is not met.
  • More information needed: the available evidence does not establish an outcome.

Separate room, electrical and sleeve checks

The guided selector uses an ENERGY STAR room estimate and an explicit ±20% comparison band. That band is our shortlist policy, not an ENERGY STAR rule or proof of individual sizing. Missing electrical facts, unknown requested features and unresolved fit-critical conflicts prevent a confirmed outcome. New installations require their own manufacturer-supported sleeve relationship.

Read the buying guide or start guided selection.

Show the remaining checks

Actual sleeve identity, electrical supply, grille, required accessories, and installation condition must be checked for the individual installation. The product manual and a qualified installer can resolve checks that a web page cannot.

Keep research and publication separate

Unreviewed records stay out of the public catalog. Reviewed profiles can be listed with missing requirements, which remain explicit checks. A documented physical sleeve association does not establish electrical suitability or a purchase recommendation. We do not turn an unknown measurement into zero, a missing feature into “no,” or a similar dimension into a compatibility claim.
